This is another recipe from BJ Gourmet.. Here is what she says about it...
This recipe is easy and good for feeding a crowd of folks (most think they're brownies).
TEXAS SHEET CAKE
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease and flour a jellyroll pan (11"x17"x1").
Bring to a boil over medium heat:
2 sticks margarine
1 cup water
4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Then remove from heat and add:
2 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Mix well with a wooden spoon and pour into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool..
Then prepare the frosting:
Bring to a boil over medium heat:
1 stick margarine
4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 c milk (or a little more)
Then remove from heat and add:
1 lb powdered sugar, sifted
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
After the cake has cooled to room temperature, pour on the frosting and smooth with metal spatula.
