Here is another delicious Taco Pie recipe sent to me by Jewels... Forget Taco Bell!! This one will satisfy your Mexican food craving.. LOL!!
1 deep dish pie crust (9")
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion -- chopped
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 can refried beans
1/3 cup taco sauce
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
12 tortilla chips -- crushed
Sliced black olives
Additional taco sauce
Preheat oven and cookie sheet to 400F.
Prick bottom and sides of pie crust. Place pie crust on cookie sheet; bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
Reduce heat to 350F.
In skillet, cook onion and beef until browned; drain fat. Add taco seasoning mix and prepare according to package directions.
In small bowl, combine refried beans and 1/3 cup taco sauce. Mix well.
Layer half bean mixture into pie crust. Top with half of seasoned meat, 1 cup cheese and crushed tortilla chips. Repeat layers, excluding chips.
Bake on cookie sheet 20-25 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Top with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and olives; serve with additional taco sauce if desired.
