Here is a wonderful recipe sent to me by Snuggle... Doesn't this recipe sound delicious?? (Updated December 11, 2006)

Hungarian cookies

2 cups flour

8 oz of cream cheese

2 sticks of butter

Nut Filling:

2 cups of chop walnuts

1/2 cup of sugar

3 egg whites slightly beaten

2 tablespoons of milk

Mix flour, cream cheese and butter together. Roll the batter into a ball and cut the ball in half to form 2 balls. Place the balls into the refrigerator. Let them chill for about 3 to 5 hours.

Mix together the ingredients for the nut filling. (NOTE: if you want your nut filling a little sweeter, then add a little more sugar until you like the sweetness.)

Or you can add your own favorite filling. (Pie fillings are good for this recipe.)

After the dough balls are chilled, roll each ball out flat. You will then have 2 layers of dough. Add nut filling over one layer of dough. Place second layer of dough on top of the filling then cut into squares. Seal edges of each square with water.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes. When finished baking, wait until they have cooled and then sprinkle powdered sugar on them.

Boy they are great tasting!!
