Here is a delicious way to start the day.. We have tried this recipe and have really enjoyed it! BJGourmet sent this wonderful recipe and this is what she says about it...

"Here's my adaptation of a recipe recently featured on "Good Morning America". Although the original recipe called for Genoa salami, diced cooked ham or cooked (and chopped) breakfast sausage would work very well.

For the cheese, I used a combination of shredded Mozzarella and packaged "Mexican Blend". No additional salt is needed in the ingredients."

Breakfast Casserole

1/2 large loaf french bread, diced

1/2 stick butter, melted

1 lb Montery Jack cheese, shredded

1/2 lb Genoa salami, julienned

10 large eggs

1 1/2 c milk

1/3 c white wine

3 large green onions, minced

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp dried red pepper flakes

1 c sour cream

1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese

In a well greased 9"x13" casserole dish, spread bread pieces over bottom and drizzle with butter. Sprinkle with the grated cheese and julienned meat.

Beat together eggs, milk, wine, green onions, mustard and black and red pepper until mixture is frothy. Pour over bread mixture. Cover casserole with foil and refrigerate overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake covered in preheated 325° oven for 1 hour. Uncover, spread with sour cream and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered an additional 20 minutes, until lightly browned.
