Here are two very good recipes submitted By Gung_Ho_Chuck. Chuck wrote to Governor Jeb Bush's office, asking if there were any recipes that the Bush's would like to share.

Here is a copy of the email response along with two of Jeb's family favorites.

Thank you for writing the Governor. He received your email and asked me to respond. I have included two recipes that the Governor enjoys.

I would also like to refer you to Governor's website where you can learn about his administration and his initiatives. The website is http://www.myflorida.com .

Thanks once again for writing. If I can further assist you, let me know.

My Favorite Pie

Prepare a graham cracker pie crust in a 9-inch Pyrex pie plate.

Combine the following ingredients in a double boiler and cook until thickened:

3 egg yokes

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup milk

1 envelope unflavored gelatin (softened in water)

Meringue Topping

Beat 3 egg whites until stiff.

Beat in 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cream of tartar to make a meringue.

Fold together egg yolk mixture, meringue, 1 quart whipped cream and a dash of "Grand Marnier." Pour mixture into pie crust.

Grate semi-sweet chocolate over the top and keep chilled until served.

Note: Cool whip may be substituted for whipped cream.

Not only is this my favorite, but Jeb and the kids love it too. I know it will be a hit with your family as well.
